Calder Circus

The 4th grade students at Abington Friends School in Jenkintown, PA. were given an art lesson on Calder and his circus. They created their circuses from all kinds of materials.Next they used littleBits to bring the circuses to life! The students had dancers, tightrope walkers, balance beams, etc…. Then each pair made a circus video in the Calder style.

Duration: 3 art lessons, 3 science lessons

Using all sorts of creative materials such as wire and pipe cleaners, have the students create their circuses.

STEP 3 : Bring the circuses to life!

Have the student animate their circuses in various ways using littleBits. Have them videotape the results.
